Does the Surge come with a sheath?
The Surge ships as the bare tool. Leatherman's belt sheaths are sold separately, and a full-size tool like this rides well on a belt, so add one if the Surge is joining you on shift.
What bits does the large bit driver take?
It ships with a double-ended Phillips #1-2 and 3/16 inch flat bit fitted, and it accepts Leatherman's flat double-ended bits. The Leatherman Bit Kit, sold separately, adds the common Torx, hex and Phillips sizes.
What happens when the wire cutters wear out?
The regular and hard-wire cutters are premium replaceable inserts rather than a machined part of the plier head. When years of cable and fencing wire finally dull them, replacement inserts swap in and the tool keeps working.
