Must have for law enforcement. From vehicle searches, SFST’s, and everything else the job requires. I love the magnet and n the bottom, works great on center console. I have lost 2 issued O-lights and this one I never have to worry about. USB-C chargeable so no special batteries either like the O-light. Update 6/2026. I love this light. Having a small 5000 mah power bank with a cord is no big deal for this light in exchange for a full 12 hour shift of heavy use. 5 stars. I’ve said it before Ava I’ll say it again, if you’re a cop, here’s your task light for patrol. The build quality is rock solid. The adjusting head holds the position you put it until you want to adjust as needed for different circumstances. The housing and sliding switch are metal (the switch even has a knurled finish for no slip easy to find use without looking. Just buy it and you’ll be happy. I’ve been thru so many lights looking for precisely what this light does; center mounted, with clip that allows bezel (light head) down option and the ability to adjust the angle from straight down to my toes, up to almost straight out ahead (and will hold any position in between), and a SIMPLE no-nonsense switch. When you use the switch you’ll wonder why it took so long for a company to develop it. 26 year salty sgt approved!Now at 4 stars. Replacement light doesn’t have the lithium odor. I’ve been using with a small 5000mah power bank. That allows a lot longer runtime. Outstanding user interface and the best light I’ve used for hands free patrol use.This is tough for me. I don’t use that word often, but the easy to grab sliding switch is a straight up fabulous user interface for a cop. You don’t need to mess with buttons. You simply slide it up or down and stop at your preferred brightness level. It’s like it was made for cops.I love the angles of downward or downward and forward light with a simple adjustment of the flex head. Once you get it where you want it, it’s staying at that angle unless you physically adjust it again. The versatility and functionality of the durable slider switch is a true winner.The light size has a solid heft to it. Very high build quality.Now, after all of this praise, why the one star? Well, the battery life is horrendous. Going off the guide, I should get at least 2 hours on mid or high setting. Nope. Not happening. I was on a call my first night with the light. I was giddy. I was excited. It was my first shift with the light after getting the light on my porch before work. I plugged it in via usb-c and it got a full charge before work.After trying to explain the coolness of the design to my wife before I left (she doesn’t get it lol), I left for work. Total 35 mins.Fast forward to a welfare check on a dark road later on. I used the light again. Had it on mid (third brightest). That call was 25 mins. So total use so far was at just under an hour. Cool.According to the the paperwork, 2 hours 45 mins of mid is to be expected. I glanced at the battery status lights and noticed I only had 1 green light left. This irritated me. I found a light that’s PERFECT for handsfree patrol use and mounted via molle. After soooo many different lights, I truly felt this was the winner BY FAR.I covered on a traffic stop a bit later. My beat partner has the same carrier I have. I offered my new treasure to him while he filled out a cite. He clipped it on, cycled the 4 main slider settings and settled on low. While issuing the cite, he bumped it up to mid level. We met back at his veh. He put it back on low and after maybe 10 seconds of writing notes on the cite, the light went out! He looked at me, shook his head a bit, handed it back to me and I pouted back my to my veh while cycling the slider. None of the battery status lights were on. It was drained.The stop was 14 minutes! Total use on night one after a FULL CHARGE, an hour and 10 mins. That’s less than half what it’s rated at.Now, this light was a great value for money spent based on the build quality and slider control alone.I totally understand the advertised light times are not exact. But this was day one, after a full charge. I got less than half the rated time.One good thing, the light will fully function if it’s being recharged. So, I’m going to use a slim 5000 mah charging bank with a short USB-C cable routed from a nearby pocket. I REALLY like the light. I’m really super picky. This light is nice.But what a massive disappointment when I got half the rated use. If the light realistically gets you about an hour of light before going dead, ok, then put that on the paperwork.So, I’m frustrated. I take my reviews seriously. I have a top rated review for the Streamlight Stinger 2020 (sweet light). I’m disappointed in Nitecore. The light wasn’t dropped or abused. Getting half the rated output is unacceptable. Nitecore has plenty of advertising geared towards cops or “tactical use”. They need to understand a light is depended on as a cop. They made a great light. No doubt about it. But in my experience, you can take the listed time and cut it in half. Take that new time and rely on that.PS. I used the light the next night. Same results. Once it hit just over an hour, it was drained. Maybe mine has a bad battery. Who knows.Ok, hopefully this helps folks out. If Nitecore reads this, I’m happy to try another and if I’m get more than an hour on mid setting, I’ll happily update my review. I shouldn’t have to hook the light up to a power bank to get it to work to the rated times….Be safe out there folks.My light began smelling like the lithium battery pack is not sealed properly. Very strong odor. Amazon customer service replaced the light. I’ll try the replacement and report back. Maybe I’ll get semi close to the rated times.

This little light is truly fantastic. It's made of a heavy stainless steel painted black. It's feels great in your hand and so well designed for easy use and perfect handling. The button to turn it on and adjust the brightness is on the side and is easily pressed with your thumb. The head or top of the light flips down to a right angle so it can be clipped onto a pocket or cap or even your waistband using the very sturdy clip built on the side. It also has a small led scale on the bottom that shows how much battery life you have left, and it arrived fully charged. Now let's talk about the brightness, it's incredible! So very bright, that I think it may be more than the 1600 lumens it claims on the packaging. Plus the LED lights are much brighter than the old incandescent bulbs used in a typical flashlight. I wanted something bright and small to use on nights I walk the dog and it gets dark so early. This may be more expensive than your average flashlight, but make no mistake, this is NOT YOUR AVERAGE FLASHLIGHT. You never have to buy batteries so you'll save money right there. And I'm fairly sure this will last years beyond a plastic light, which I have had many in my lifetime. Treat yourself, you won't be disappointed because the quality you get for this price is definitely worth it.

Useful features to include for future models: - red light for night vision compatibility esp astronomy onsite use - A strong strobe personal protection feature like that on the edc 23. Useful when out at remote sites during astronomy observation.
Solid product
I'm a big fan of small, high-powered EDC (Every Day Carry) flashlights, especially Nitecore. I own several, and they are all very well-made, strong metal, powerful, and feature packed. However, new competitors have been coming on the market, giving them a bit of their run for the money, so Nightcore needs to keep up their game. This one does a pretty good job. The lever to activate on the side is very convenient. The multiple color temperature modes, and easy switching between those modes is also a big plus,. Nightcore usually does not include magnets built-ins in order to easily attach the lights to a metal surface but, I'm happy to see that they have included one in this model.. but the biggest advantage is probably the tilting head with the included diffuser. It allows you to use the light as a lamp with multiple options of color, intensity/brightness, etc. highly recommend. Very nice light..
I am genuinely impressed by this flashlight. I am "a flashlight guy" and have collected many after the years, and this one stands out as a winner. It is a convenient shape for carrying (solid EDC option) and has a two-way clip for either a pocket, strap, hat bill, etc. It is easy to operate with the slider switch, going between off, low, med or high. The M button (mode) toggles between the three light color options (warm, cool, or daylight). It also has a battery indicator to quickly see how charged it is. The light remembers which mode was used last and keeps it until the user changes it again. It came with a charging cable (with a velcro strap, which I thought was a nice touch to keep the cable organized), lanyard, diffuser and user manual. It is wicked bright at the high end, and still throws a solid light at low and high, even in a lit room. For the price, quality, operation, and accessories, I am happily rating this light at 5 stars. I would 100% recommend it!
This light far exceeded my expectations and I am not easily impressed. The light came charged and is a quick charge over usb-c which is really nice. The body is lightweight and the flat design makes it easy to carry. The color temperature is a nice feature and I use it way more than I thought I would. The by directional pocket clip is sturdy and stays on the brim of my hat as well as the Molle panels on my vest for work. The 102° rotating head is perfect for nighttime illumination and really helps the light be flexible especially when it’s also flat meaning you can lay it down on the edge of a surface in either illuminate down or up. The user interface is great, allowing you to start off at a low lumen and slide the switch directly up to high if you need it, it also encourages you to keep your hand away from the hot end of the light. The optics provide a nice flood beam that projects a lot of light far enough for most situations, and the magnetic tail just adds to the versatility of the light. I often stand it against the metal base near my hands in a vehicle so that I can grab it without issue on my way out of the car. Very happy with this product and would buy it again in a heartbeat, this is my first Nitecore flashlight, but it certainly won’t be my last.

Operate mode simple & easy to carry. The light feel premium.
To start with, I first got introduced to Nitecore with their NU25 ultralight hiking headlamps. They instantly became one of my favorite lights to use. I currently own a couple of their other headlamps (NU20 Classic) and have always been impressed with the quality and features they have. When I seen this light, I thought it would make for a nice "bump in the night" nightstand flashlight so I got it on order. I wasn't really expecting it to be much other than a decent quality light, but when I got it in it really surprised me. I also thought it was plastic, but turns out it actually has a PVD coated stainless steel body. Yes you read that correct, stainless steel, not aluminum. A huge surprise for me.For starters, it is super simple to use. The M button changes the color temperature and the slide button on the side clicks into different detent settings for different brightness modes. The only exception to this is the ultra-low mode. To access it the light needs to be off, then you hold the M button and slide the main switch. It doesn’t matter what position you slide it to, it stays in ultra-low mode. If you tap the M button when the light is turned off it will show the battery level. I also like the color they chose of the battery level indicator. It's not a bright cheap looking green. It's hard to explain, but it's just a really nice looking softer color. And its little details like that that make the overall experience of using a product just that much better.Thats it, just a very functional, easy to use light. The color temperature setting is remembered so once you get it set all you have to do is slide the switch to operate the light. The slide switch feels super nice in hand. Very secure detents with a solid feel to them. The next part I really liked about the light was just the overall feel of it. It is quite heavy for its size and feels VERY well made. I was a little concerned that the pivoting head would be kind of loose but that isn't the case at all. It is very firm but still super smooth to operate. It's like the perfect balance between the two which is really nice. Also, the magnetic base is very powerful so you will never have to worry about it falling off once you stick it in place somewhere. This is a problem I have had with other lower quality lights (I'm looking at you RovyVon).This package includes the light itself, a little silicone diffuser cap to turn the light into a lantern, a charging cable, and an adjustable lanyard. The cable it comes with is really short and I'll probably just end up donating that to goodwill and use the 6 ft cable that stays plugged in by my nightstand for my phone and other items. Overall, I highly recommend this flashlight. It would make a great EDC light to keep in a backpack, glovebox, or kitchen drawer for everyday use. I am really impressed with it. No complaints whatsoever. Pretty much everything about this light just points to quality without trying to skimp to save a buck (something I am coming to appreciate Nitecore for). It really does seem like they care about providing a quality product to their customers.
Nitecore is a staple brand in the flashlight enthusiast space and this particular model is following the recent flat style more pocketable flashlight trend with a couple notable/novel features.The first of those features is the button to select between 3 different color temperatures using nitecores own custom made proprietary LEDs/emitters. The first appears very warm/yellow at around 3000k. The next is more neutral at around 4000k with the final option in the 6000k range which is on the cool side of pure white.This feature by itself is not particularly common in flashlights, but nitecore went a step further. They claim the warmest color temperature also produces light at 97 CRI with the other two coming in at 83 and 73 respectively.I don't have the equipment to verify the claim, but I appreciate the concept.Generally, cooler LEDs/emitters produce higher lumens, but wash out colors while warmer tints can better punch through fog/haze and tend to render colors more accurately and that is the case for this light.Each tint produces different lumen levels with the cooler tint producing the most lumens at 1600 and the warmest producing the least at 1050.I will likely just leave it on the middle setting as that is the most neutral and pleasing to my colorblind eyes.The next feature is the tilting head, which obviously has been done before... However, I appreciate that the head on this light can tilt down beyond 90 degrees (up to 102 degrees) allowing it to point slightly downward when standing on its tail. It's a small thing, but definitely a useful tweak.Then on to the activation switch. This light uses a sliding 4 position primary switch with spring loaded ball detents at each position (Off, low, med, high). It produces a firm, positive, and very satisfyingly audible and tactile click at each position. Fidgeters will love it (wives will hate it).The color temperature is selectable with a push button above the slider.An "ultra low" mode at 1 lumen can be enabled by holding the color temp button down then sliding the brightness selector from off to on. It's a two handed operation unless you possess much more dexterity than I...Personally, I would have preferred the lowest possible brightness to be more easily accessible as the first on option and the highest brightness or "turbo" be a double click or long hold of the button... Or, if the color temp button were at the bottom you could press it and slide the selector up with one thumb at the same time. That's my only gripe with this light...Ultimately, it's a different take on the flat light concept with some useful and satisfying features. I like it...Oh, almost forgot to mention.... It comes with a silicone diffuser that has a little hole in the side. That hole is to prevent trapped air causing pressure/suction making it easier to get on and off. It's a good attention to detail.
