Two LEDs, two jobs: a wall of light or real reach.
The two NiteLab UHi 20 MAX LEDs drive a 6,500-lumen Lumin Shield flood that fills a room, a yard or a car park in one press. Switch to Search and the beam concentrates into a 400-metre throw at 40,230 candela to pick out a figure or a sign across a field.
Step down to a 1,200-lumen High for everyday tasks, or a 100-lumen Low that reads a map and still runs for 13 hours, so one slim light covers the close work and the far look.
A 6,500-lumen flood that lights the whole scene at once.
Lumin Shield throws a wide, even wall of light rather than a narrow hotspot, so a stairwell, a back garden or a roadside fills with light the moment you switch on. The spread covers your full field of view, which is exactly what you want when you need to read a situation fast.
It is a broad working beam for close and mid-range tasks, ready on a single press for everyday checks or an unexpected emergency.
Search mode reaches 400 metres when you need distance.
Activate the two primary cores on their own and the EDC29 punches out a 3,000-lumen beam at 40,230 candela, throwing usable light to 400 metres. That is enough reach to scan a perimeter, check the far end of a property, or spot a trail marker well before you get to it.
It is the kind of throw normally reserved for larger tactical lights, here in something that still rides flat in a pocket.
A display that tells you exactly where you stand.
The multifunctional OLED screen reads out the current brightness level and battery voltage, the runtime remaining at that level, the power left, and the lockout status. A glance tells you whether you have ten minutes or ten hours before you head out.
It turns the EDC29 from a light you hope will last into one you know will, which is what a carry or response light should do.
Dual-stage buttons that work the way you do.
Two dual-stage tactical buttons sit at the tail for one-handed control. A half-press steps through brightness levels and a full-press switches the light on or off, so you set the output you want and fire it by feel.
The second button is customisable for direct access to Lumin Shield, Strobe or Search, putting your most-used mode one press away when a moment matters.
Two lockout modes keep it from firing by accident.
Semi Lockout disables the power button while keeping the customisable button live for direct Lumin Shield, Strobe or Search, so the light stays ready but never switches on by itself in a pocket or bag.
Full Lockout disables both buttons for long-term storage or transport, so 6,500 lumens never wakes up against your leg and drains the battery before you need it.
Preset the brightness before you switch on.
Half-press the power button to set the brightness level before the light is even on, so it comes up at exactly the output the moment calls for. A soft glow to check a map in comfort, or full power the instant a search starts, with no scrolling through modes to get there.
2,500mAh built in, for days of low-level runtime.
The built-in 2,500mAh cell feeds both LEDs and still leaves 61 hours on Ultralow or 13 hours on Low between charges. Everything is sealed in the body, so there are no spare cells to source and nothing to swap in the field.
When it does run down, the USB-C port refills it from flat to full in about 1 hour 15 minutes on a 5V/2A adapter, from the same charger your phone uses.
A proximity sensor that watches the head for you.
When the light is off and the head ends up against fabric or a pocket lining, the sensor steps the output down if it switches to High by accident, so the bezel stays cool and the battery stays charged.
Advanced Temperature Regulation works the same way during use, easing output back as the head warms so the light stays comfortable to hold through a long task.
Stainless steel and carbon fibre, with a grip that holds.
Stainless-steel shells front and rear lock onto a carbon-fibre composite frame, finished in PVD titanium coating for a body that takes knocks and stays looking the part.
The armor-style anti-slip texture wraps the sides for a secure hold barehanded or in gloves, in the rain or with cold hands, so the light stays put when you draw it in a hurry.
Slim, flat and quick to draw.
At 133.5mm long and 160g, the flat profile and deep-carry pocket clip sit flush in a pocket, a vest or on MOLLE webbing, rather than rolling around like a round-bodied torch. It draws clean and fast when you reach for it.
A large lanyard hole takes 4mm 550 paracord, so you can run it on a wrist loop or clip it to a kit bead for a carry that suits the way you work.
Built to shrug off dust, rain and drops.
The EDC29 is rated IP54 against dust and splashing water and survives a 1-metre drop onto a hard floor, so a sudden shower or a knock off a bench is a non-event.
It is sealed for everyday weather rather than submersion, which is exactly the protection an EDC light needs day to day.
WHY THE EDC29 OVER AN ORDINARY POCKET LIGHT
Flood and throw in one
A 6,500-lumen wide flood and a 400m Search beam from twin LEDs, where most pocket lights give you one or the other.
You know your runtime
The OLED display shows output, battery and remaining time, so you are not caught short mid-task. Most lights leave you guessing.
Carries flat
A slim 133.5mm body and deep-carry clip sit flush in a pocket, instead of the round barrel that rolls off a table.
Ready when you grab it
USB-C charging, two lockout modes and a 61-hour Ultralow mean it is charged, safe in a pocket and good for a long night.
WHO CARRIES THE EDC29
Everyday Carry
A flat body and clip that ride in a pocket all day, a 15-lumen Ultralow for close work and 6,500 lumens when you need it.
Security & Patrol
Quick draw, a 400m Search beam for perimeter scans and a wide flood for stairwells, doorways and car parks.
EMS & First Response
Instant high output, a runtime display you can trust on shift and a slim body that slides into a kit pocket.
Outdoors
A 400m throw across a trail or campsite, 13 hours on Low for a long night and IP54 sealing for the weather.

MAKE IT A COMPLETE GRAB-AND-GO KIT
The EDC29 keeps you from being caught in the dark. The NB Air 5,000mAh power bank keeps you from being caught dead. We have paired them so the same USB-C cable that charges your light also charges your phone, GPS or headlamp, and the whole kit drops into a pocket.
Both the EDC29 and the NB Air charge over USB-C, so there is nothing extra to pack. It is the EDC, outdoor and blackout kit you grab on the way out the door: light when you need to see, power when your phone runs flat.
Nitecore EDC29 $219 + NB Air 5,000mAh $79
Bundle price $229
YOU SAVE $69 (23%)
The NB Air: a 89g power bank you forget is there.
At just 89g the NB Air is one of the lightest 5,000mAh power banks you can carry, with a carbon-fibre and composite body that shrugs off the knocks of a pack or pocket. It runs 18W two-way USB-C charging over PD and QC 3.0, tops up a phone about 1.9 times, and it is IPX7 rated so rain or a splash is no problem.
- 5,000mAh / 19.4Wh for about 1.9 phone charges
- 18W two-way USB-C with PD and QC 3.0
- Carbon-fibre body at 89g, light enough to forget
- IPX7 waterproof against rain and splashes
One small cell that keeps your phone, GPS or headlamp alive on a long day out, charged from the same USB-C cable as the light.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Can I use the EDC29 while it is charging?
It is built for charge-then-carry rather than running on the cable. Plug it into the USB-C port to refill the built-in 2,500mAh battery, then unplug and head out. A full charge takes about 1 hour 15 minutes on a 5V/2A adapter.
How do I know it will last my shift?
The OLED screen shows the runtime remaining at your current brightness alongside the power left in the battery, so you can read at a glance whether you have minutes or hours before a top-up. Plan a shift around that countdown and you carry without guessing how much light is in reserve.
Is the bundle cheaper than buying the EDC29 and NB Air separately?
Yes. Bought on their own the EDC29 is $219 and the NB Air is $79, which is $298 together. As a bundle they are $229, so you save $69, around 23%, and you get a complete light-and-power kit in one box.

And then there was LIGHT. Sweet. Handy. Rugged good looks. Love at first sight.... well played, Nitecore, well played.
This is the best looking OD green flashlight I have ever seen. The EDC 29 is already a proven flashlight. The user interface and feel of it is one of the best out there. Definitely geared towards tactical operations, but obviously can be an EDC flashlight The new OD green color makes it the best looking green flashlight I have ever seen absolutely love it.
Sleek slim easy to carry design, many modes for various levels of brightness up to 6500 lumens, awesome comfortable edc
Bought it as a gift. She loves it!!! Slimmer than the 800 lm and a bit longer.
Bombing A.. LIGHT✊🏾✊🏾✊🏾. I love this light, it’s super bright and reliable.
I might have a small flashlight addiction, but this is my new favorite. It’s actually pretty simple to use, and I like being able to select a brightness first before actually engaging the LEDs. Quick access to the search light is clutch as well. Solid piece of gear.
This flashlight it’s my everyday companion. I love this flashlight, it’s so perfect in my hand, the different settings and lumen possibilities are perfect.. I love that it shows how much time you have on each setting also.. thank you for developing good products
Excellent. My 2nd purchase...
Purchased EDC27. Purchased EDC25 1st, awesome but the EDC27 even better and a bit brighter with much easier buttons.
This has been my EDC for almost 3 months with heavy use both for personal and work use. This covers every need I have had. Holds a charge really well and feels good in the hand and love the lock out switch. Would definitely recommend buying I also plan to get a second one soon to keep in my truck.
Brightness:Very impressive Battery life:Good
A powerful tool in a lowlight condition. Always gave me the confidence to execute my work and gave me the best possible visual environment for my inspections.
Best light money can buy, excellent customer service. Love my edc29 and edc37. I work in subway tunnels and the lights perform flawlessly. When I need to see I can see, and when I need to be seen I am seen.
Love these EDC 27. Love these, this is my third one. I am rought on these and they keep working. The first one I dropped off a 2 story house, it still works but one of the 2 LED isn’t working. Still bright though. Second one I left on a job site by accident. I’m gonna do a better job taking care of this one and not leaving it behind. These are truly my everyday cary in a holster with my folding knife. Been a customer for 4 years or so. Great product good price. 👍👍
Work in a prison and the multiple different settings for light power is the best thing. Couldn’t ask for a better light
My third Nitecore product, and have been carrying it as part of my EDC in front cargo pocket. Takes up about the same amount of space as my Benchmade Griptillian that resides next to it. Added a custom paracord lanyard to match the one on the knife for easy retrieval.
Forgot to take picture before bringing to work. Very bright. Slightly pricey but it's good.
Insanely bright on the highest power level. Feels great in your pocket as EDC. Comes with a nice lanyard, my favorite feature is the lockout button. So far it's quickly become my favorite EDC flashlight. The only thing that could be improved was a deep carry pocket clip.
Great EDC flashlight…! Super bright. I’ll go as far to say. I really didn’t believe it could be as bright as advertised. I was wrong. It surpassed all expectations.
I'm a multi-craft maintenance technician in an anodizing plant where I work around corrosive acids all day including bright dip. I've had this flashlight for about a year now. It is by far the best flashlight I've ever owned. I have bought a lot of different ones. It's bright it's powerful somehow the battery lasts a long time. The button configuration is very convenient. The way it fits in your pocket feels natural. The display is a great thing to have. This thing is solid. I'll leave a picture to show you how good it's held up where I work. Let's just say most wrenches or anything metal that touches your hands and my factory is destroyed within a month.
Great flashlight! The 2 tail buttons is the best UI. Wished it had actual momentary actuation at a selectable illumination levels (ie. ultralow) for tactical signaling.
Legit love this light! Carried stream light strain for last few yrs and this is much brighter plus clips to belt without being bulky! The super spotlight is alarmingly bright and bc it gets so hot there’s a safety switch to prevent your ass getting burnt on accident! Buying 2 more for each son’s Christmas (mid 20’s and 32 ).
Heavy duty flashlight
2 years of use. This has been my EDC light including work for at least 2 years maybe more. I recommend to everyone. Battery is still great with no significant/noticeable drop in performance. Screen cover glue loosing its grip is the only thing that has "gone wrong" but I work with chemicals that melt nitrile gloves off your hands after an hour so it's hardly a complaint. Stuck the cover back on and it's still going strong. 10/10 Nitecore beats any Streamlight I've ever had. I also have the EC23 and used it like a hammer for years without issue.
One of the best flashlights I’ve bought, powerful and fun to use
Super impressed with this EDC light. It's easily one of the best I've gotten under $100. I was looking at a Nebo, but wanted something sooner, so I took a chance on the Nitcore. It perfectly fits my preparedness personality, and I couldn't be happier with how well it works.
This is more than just a light. This light is more than just a light. Its the brightest, the most compact, and powerful means of turning night into day. Fits in your pocket, superlightweight . And recharges in a jiffy. Couldn't be happier. Hope to purchase more soon when $$ is available. <3
I was having trouble with the EDC27 with the power/selector switch on two that I tried. I then upgraded to the EDC29 and it seems more sturdier and like the upgraded features with the lock. So far I like it really well.
Brought this little beauty with me on safari in Africa. Great as a flood light on night safari to support the spotlights searching for wildlife and great for pointing out directions in the dark. Also was my self-defence tool if it got down to it.
I very happy that instead of i get the EDC25 they have upgrade and gave me ECD27 instead i appreciate and love it so much when i open the gift and nitecore torchlight is my 1st brand for my daily usage for my work condition and also for my daily usage!:)
The best. Well design, easy operation. Bright.
A fantastic upgrade. I've carried and used the EDC27 for 3 years on my daily outdoor patrols, rain or shine on my duty belt, I carried these everywhere 24/7. Only with my turbo function failing I started to look for an upgrade. The EDC29 is an absolutely wonderful and needed upgrade for the EDC series. The safety switch is placed in the best spot for those with right handed draw; and allows me quick access to the strobe defense option (I depend on this mode the most against violent transients). It has improved (essentially x2 more powerful) brightness and throw distance compared to the previous model, the texturing for better grip when wet or covered in ice. The overall convivence and easy to access defense strobe option is what makes the EDC series my favorite flashlights to bring with me wherever I go, I feel confident I have something to defend myself with and use on the daily without getting suspicious looks, it's compact, powerful, simple and full of tech at the same time. In fact everybody asks to check it out when I do have to use it. I always describe the EDCs as "If a flashlight had a gun form" and I love how it was taken ten-fold in EDC29's concept. This is a definite buy for the Gear Head that takes his own safety and gear seriously, and ill definitely be back to buy more, and see what Nitecore has next in store for the EDC series, a series that stands on its own in the flashlight gear world.
Very useful!
very bright and easy to use. quite light and compact as well. take note that after prolonged usage it gets really hot especially with the turbo mode
The little light that can. I absolutely love this device. Bright when you need it. Has definite heft. Makes for a great hand weight when you might have to use it for defense. Battery life is more than enough.
It's definitely one of the best, powerful, and portable flashlight that you can get now. The size of it isn't too bulky and it's convenient to bring it anywhere with you. Everyone should be carrying at least one flashlight with them just in case of emergency.
Best flashlight on the market. Purchased the edc29. I had the edc27 before and absolutely loved it. Decided to upgrade to the edc29. I am very happy with the purchase. The light is built well and is extremely bright. I mean really bright. Can't wait till the put an upgrade out after the edc 29. Nitecore has a lifelong customer with me. Keep up the awesome work nitecore
Another amazing flashlight from Nitecore, EDC27 UHi is relatively small to slip around, with easy access to strobe, yet powerful, the display is good to know the power and battery. I would buy this again for the size with higher EDC29
Perfect after 2 weeks and 2 drops. It was my EDC for work since I received it 2-3 weeks ago. I have dropped it twice so far, once on tile flooring and once on a concrete floor. Happily, not even a scratch and working perfectly, Unhappily, after initially questioning, “What’s that?” My lovely wife has now claimed it as her own and we use it every night when we go outside with our dog. Looks like I be purchasing another one. Thanks
