What happens if the battery runs flat on a trip?
The 300mAh battery gives up to 80 hours of signalling and holds its charge well in the cold, so a fully charged NWE10 covers a long trip with margin to spare. Check the four indicator lights before you leave, and top up over USB-C from a power bank if you are out for many days.
Can I really submerge it, or is it just splashproof?
It is rated IPX7, which covers rain, snow and brief submersion in water, so a stream crossing or a kayak capsize is fine. It is not built for prolonged diving, but for signalling in wet conditions it keeps working.
How do I mount it on a pack or vest?
Use the built-in clip on a shoulder strap, pocket or belt for quick access, or fit the included OUTDOCK bracket to MOLLE webbing on a pack or vest. There is also a lanyard hole if you prefer to run a cord.
