In Nitecore Lab testing with an iPhone 17 (177g) as the reference, the grip held about 1,000g, roughly the weight of 5.6 iPhones stacked together. That keeps the pack locked on while you walk, scroll or slip your phone into a jacket.
Magnetic here means physical attachment only. The POCKET 5 does not charge wirelessly. All power runs through wired USB-C, which is faster and more efficient.
iPhone: Snaps straight onto any MagSafe-compatible iPhone, bare or in a MagSafe case, with no adapter needed.
Android: Attaches with a magnetic case. A magnetic ring is included in the box, so you can add snap-on support to a case that needs it.
Either way, the built-in cable does the charging, so the magnetic hold simply keeps the pack tidy against your phone while it works.
The POCKET 5 takes the conditions that end most power banks. An IPX7 rating covers heavy rain, an accidental puddle drop and a damp backpack pocket, with multiple layers of waterproof protection across the internal components and the external seams.
The housing uses V0 flame-retardant material, the highest UL 94 class for resistance to ignition. Together with the sealing, that makes for a pack built to shrug off everyday knocks, moisture and temperature swings.
The POCKET 5 is not designed for underwater use. Dry it thoroughly if it has been submerged.
A dedicated microcontroller watches charging and discharging in real time, paired with two NTC thermistors for precise temperature sensing.
Together they cover overcurrent, intelligent thermal, optimised charge and discharge, short-circuit, over-discharge, button, overcharge, accurate power indication and overvoltage protection.
The 4-LED indicator gives a clear read on remaining charge, and the POCKET 5 runs across an operating range of -10°C to 35°C (14°F to 95°F).

Since the purchased, it has been my favourite and must-have EDC with me. It actually replaced the current Nitecore carbon power bank. With the built-in USB c cable, it makes my charging easier. The size is also one of the main reason to have the product.

Just received this Magnetic USB-C powerbank recently. I’ve the other bigger one also from Nitecore but this so much more user-friendly ie. it’s magnetic. Lightweight and convenient to use and carry about.
The magnetic charging is not so effective through my quadlock case. Nevertheless it is compact and slick.
